[ Ruby is, in fact, on the living room floor, sketching out a design for a recent weapon commission she got. When Yang appears, though, only to throw herself unceremoniously onto the sofa, Ruby looks up from her work and tucks her pencil behind her ear.

Uhh...Yang? I think your face is in Jaune's butt groove!
[Gawd Ruby at least pretend to be concerned about her terrible plight here, geez.
Yang shifts a little in discomfort on the couch, keeping her hand over her face.]
I kissed Weiss.
[Not only does she say it quiet enough you'd probably have to have Blake's hearing to pick it up, but she grumbles it almost completely unintelligibly.]
No. [She's still facing the back of the couch so that word is a little muffled, but she briefly lifts her head enough to look over her shoulder as she adds.] It was fine.
[She sits up with a huff, gesturing with her hands as she sets the scene.]
It happened in Briarlan. We were in a bar and we'd just beaten up a bunch of pirates and everything was great. We started talking about the bar we went to for flirting practice and how we both had a great time and I said we should do it again and Weiss said yes.
And then...I don't know. I just got really happy?? I know-...I know it had to be the crystal stuff making me giddy or something, but then I picked her up into a hug and we spun around a little and then I kissed her.
[She says it with the same candor as if she'd actually said, "And that's when I ruined everything".]
[ Well, if there's a good time to kiss someone, it's definitely after beating up a bunch of pirates. But Ruby's never considered it. What would it be like if her sister and her partner dating, or something???
....It could be really fun!! Or really weird. For Ruby, anyway. ]
[Which, looking back on it, isn't the worst reaction she could have gotten from Weiss following a surprise smooch. To be totally honest, Yang's not sure what kind of reaction she would have wanted so she's just gonna put her head in her hands.]
And her face was bright red. I think she was really embarrassed.
[ Yeah, coming from Weiss? That doesn't sound too bad. But it doesn't sound great, either, and really, Weiss' reaction only matters as much as Yang wants it to. ]
Oh, Weiss would get really embarrassed even if Neptune kissed her. You should talk to her about it! I don't want you guys making things weird by being all awkward around each other!
[Another groan emanates from where Yang has her face in her hands. Upsetting the team balance is exactly the thing she's worried about. Things are dicey enough already with just the three of them here. The last thing she needs is to scare off another member of Team RWBY somehow.]

She can hardly blame Yang for being a little confused about what she's feeling, and while part of Ruby might want to urge her to figure it out so things can go back to normal, well...
There's not exactly a "normal" around here anymore. Things haven't been "normal" since Yang was disqualified in the Vytal Festival Tournament. "Normal" was a constant flux now, a daring new thing that their entire household was still figuring out. Maybe "normal" is the weirdness. Maybe Yang wanting to kiss Weiss is what that means now.
Tilting her head, Ruby grins fully, a laugh bubbling out of her. ]

[Which, by the sound of her tone, is both confusing and honestly surprising to her. She's dated before but those were whirlwind flings that didn't really have feelings involved. And if she's starting to like Weiss as more than just a teammate, well...she kinda wants to be sure about it. She owes Weiss that much. And kissing her with weird crystal shenanigans going on definitely doesn't make her sure.
And that's ignoring the fact that the idea of liking a teammate and friend as more than just a friend makes her a little...anxious, to say the least.

Speaking of babies growing up, when do I finally get to meet that Kor guy you danced with? You're still friends, right?
