[ Ruby perks up again in surprise, looking pointedly at her sister. She'd turned down Weiss before? This is definitely the first time she's hearing of this! The plot thickens... ]
Look - whatever you decide to do, it's going to be weird to talk to Weiss about it! That's just kind of...how talking to her is sometimes! [ Ruby loves you, Weiss. ] But if you don't do anything about it, you're going to drive yourself crazy. You're going to drive me crazy!
[ So...guess that means Yang needs to decide how she feels about it first. ]
[Which...she'll recount if Ruby really wants to know. It's not like it's a big secret or anything, certainly not anything important enough for her to want to keep from her sister.
It's just a weird and awkward tale. Kinda like this whole kiss mess right now.]
And I know...I know I should do something about it. I just...
[Don't want to.
Because even if Weiss lets this whole thing drop, writes it off as an emotional lapse in judgement, does exactly the best thing Yang could hope for, it'll still needle at Yang because she initiated it. And because she kinda thought it was nice? Except of course, she thought it was nice. Kisses are great. And Weiss is a lovely person when she's not chewing somebody out. Maybe she'd take it as a compliment. Sure.
If this had been anyone other than Weiss involved, she probably wouldn't be agonizing like this. Well, no, that's not true either. ...Crap.
Resigned, Yang flops back onto the couch, folding her arms on her stomach as she stares up at the ceiling.]
I'm being a big baby about this...
[She knows this too. Still doesn't mean she wants to do what she probably should do, but at least she's mature enough to acknowledge the fact.]
[ Leave it to Ruby to be painfully blunt, but she wears a fond smile as she says so, reaching out to nudge Yang's shoulder playfully with her knuckles. It's not as if she would be doing any better if she had unexpectedly kissed anyone, or even expectedly kissed anyone. She can hardly blame Yang for being a little confused about what she's feeling, and while part of Ruby might want to urge her to figure it out so things can go back to normal, well...
There's not exactly a "normal" around here anymore. Things haven't been "normal" since Yang was disqualified in the Vytal Festival Tournament. "Normal" was a constant flux now, a daring new thing that their entire household was still figuring out. Maybe "normal" is the weirdness. Maybe Yang wanting to kiss Weiss is what that means now.
Tilting her head, Ruby grins fully, a laugh bubbling out of her. ]
Buuuuut babies grow up! You'll figure this out, and Weiss will, too. Even if it takes awhile. Don't rush it. It seems like it's really important to you.
[ And those aren't the things you can rush through. ]
[Yang'll give her sister a flat look for agreeing with her, but there's no actual irritation in it. In fact, it looks like she's trying hard not to smirk, letting Ruby's nudge to her shoulder jostle her a little. Bluntness seems to be the Xiao Long-Rose way after all.
With a small sigh, a warm smile spreads across her face.]
Thanks. Yeah...it is kinda important.
[Which, by the sound of her tone, is both confusing and honestly surprising to her. She's dated before but those were whirlwind flings that didn't really have feelings involved. And if she's starting to like Weiss as more than just a teammate, well...she kinda wants to be sure about it. She owes Weiss that much. And kissing her with weird crystal shenanigans going on definitely doesn't make her sure.
And that's ignoring the fact that the idea of liking a teammate and friend as more than just a friend makes her a little...anxious, to say the least.
As if to cover up for the long pause, she grins and then suddenly sits up again.]
Speaking of babies growing up, when do I finally get to meet that Kor guy you danced with? You're still friends, right?
[She hasn't been snooping! Totally changing the subject so her little sister can get some teasing of her own, but not snooping.]
[ Yang's tactic works, because the moment she mentions Kor, Ruby's face lights up. It's not that she's embarrassed, or anything - it's just the way Yang phrased it!! Why would she be asking about Kor at a time like this? Right after they were talking about mushy feelings and kissing like that??
You're a menace, Yang! ]
Um - why would you bring that up? [ Don't look at her like that!!! ] Of course we're still friends! What, can't friends, um, dance with each other and talk about weapons together and get milk mustaches together?
[ Uhuh, uhuh, sure. Yang says she just wants to know if he's gone home, but Ruby's not that gullible! Aaand her suspicions are confirmed as her sister goes on, Ruby's face going as deep red as her name. ]
What?! What - no! We're just friends! It's not like that at all!
[ Clearly, from the way she's stammering and flustering. Sure, Kor was pretty cool and he had a neat weapon, and maybe she liked it when he said nice things about her...but that's true for everyone! Who doesn't blush a little when they're being complimented? Yeesh... ]

Sure they can. [An innocent grin.] I just wanted to know if you were still friends because he could've gone home.
[It is a genuine concern! That innocent grin is looking way less innocent now though, her voice kinda sing-songy.]
Oooorrr because you could've upgraded to "more than friends"?

Okay, okay. You're definitely just friends. I got it.
[She's got it alright.]
