[ Ruby peers down from her (questionably) suspended bed, still blinking herself back into consciousness. Whatever Weiss has to tell them must be important! ]

Hnnnnn...what is it, Weiss? Did you [ YAWN ] see Pluto Boobly again?

[Yang groans in protest but rolls over to face Weiss, propping an arm up under her face.]

Yeah, what's the big deal?

[ She puts her pillow on her lap and bounces in her bed. IT'S GIRL TALK TIME, YOU GUYS!! ]

[ She sticks one finger in her ear to clean it out, and pinches herself just for good measure.

No, she heard that correctly, and no, she's not dreaming.

....DEEP BREATH ]

[ Ruby releases the full force of her high-pitched squeal and presses her cheeks into her hands. ]

Omigoshomigoshomigosh - WEISS GOT KISSED! WEISS GOT KISSED! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!

[If it were anyone else, not counting Ruby, Yang might have rolled back over and gone back to sleep, but this is Weiss.

So, minding Ruby's hanging bunk bed, she sits up with a tonally ascending "Ooooooo~" and leans forward intrigued.]

Well, come on, don't leave us hanging. Who was it?

[ Weiss immediately shushes Ruby because GIRL, PLEASE DON'T WAKE THE ENTIRE HOUSE UP????

And once Ruby has calmed herself down, she looks at Yang. She's met the guy, after all! And Weiss is completely unaware that Ruby was there as Mr. Vermillion Richman... so. You know. ]

Remember that guy at the bar? Jean? [ She bites her lip to control a giggle, but she ends up letting that one loose, anyway. ]

You mean that guy who thought we were running some kind of con?

[Yes, she remembers Jean.

Oh my gawd, REALLY???

[She can't squeal quite the way her sister can but it's still up there.]

[ Ruby may have been spying on Weiss and Yang that day at the bar, but she didn't know their names or even remember all their faces! Who's Jean??? Why does his name sound so much like Jaune's... ]

[ How do you even describe how Jean looks like without saying he looks like a horse? (Not that Weiss sees it, anyway.) ]

He was one of the guys who visited when we played Floor is Lava. [ Then again, they had a lot of visitors then... god, their household is such a mess. ] He was wearing this green scarf and he yelled a lot.

[Like, she was kinda wondering if there wasn't something going on there with all the awkward flirting(??) but omigawd.]

[ Ruby squints, trying to recall everyone she'd seen that day...the description sort of rings a bell.

...Wait, wasn't that the guy Jaune smooched?

She is so confused. But she's not going to derail Weiss's juicy story for any detour! ]

Of course, I kissed him back! [ Wait, of course??? Oh god. ] He's a pretty cool and smart guy! And he's funny... sometimes dumb.

[ Then to Ruby... ]

And yes, we did... sort of? He didn't know we were even on a date, though. I asked him to go with me to the masquerade and it flew over his head.

... Okay, maybe he's dumber than smart.

[Weiss how have you not realized you're dating a brunette version of Jaune?]

He seemed nice though.

[Definitely a little dim in her opinion, but...nice. And Weiss likes him so who cares?

Her tone goes a little sly.]

Are you gonna invite him over?

[ It's okay, Weiss. Most of the men in the relationships Ruby's been familiar with are dumb. Jaune...her dad...okay, that's about it.

At Yang's suggestion, Ruby lights up again, a wicked mischief in her eyes. ]

Yeah! Just a little get-to-know-your-girlfriend's-friends!

[ You know what she means. But also: ]

Wait! Does that mean you're his girlfriend? [ Her voice goes so high-pitched on that last word that only dogs could probably hear it. ]

That's what I want to talk about!

[ As excited and proud as she sounded earlier, she sounds a bit worried now. ]

He asked if he could kiss me again tomorrow, and I said yes. That— Does this mean he wants me to be his girlfriend? Is that what that question meant?

[ She looks at Ruby who will likely be of no help... then she looks at Yang. ]

Well, it definitely means he likes kissing you.

[She can't help the gentle tease.]

But yeah, I think it does.

[A pause.]

...Mmmaybe ask him just to be sure?

[Look, they just established earlier that Jean's not the sharpest sword-gun in the weapon shed so, might as well double-check.]

[ It's true, Ruby is no help in that department. That's why she asked! When Yang gives her answer, though, she nods fervently. ]

If he didn't know you were on a date, he might not know you want to be his girlfriend, either!

[ This is pretty sound logic coming from a girl who wouldn't recognize flirting if it punched her in the nose. ]

I should ask him, huh?

[ A smile creeps on her face and it grows wider and wider until she has to bite her lip because her face looks kooky now.

Then she moves to roll on her bed, and she just... screams. ]

[nailed_it]

[Gonna join in on the cheering who even cares what hour it is.]

[ Oh good, they're all screaming now. ]

Weiss and Jean, sitting in a tree -!

[ You know how the rest goes. ]

[ She continues squealing and screaming for a while until she jumps out of the bed, waaay too alert. She's still hugging her pillow, too! ]

That- That was my first kiss! What if I wasn't good?! [ OH GOD!!!! ] YANG!!!!!!

[Yang'll get up and put her hands on her shoulders to calm her IT'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT WEISS, BREATHE.]

Hey, hey, you've got nothing to worry about. Whatever you did, he wants to do it again, remember?
