[ Honestly, the sooner Elphelt gets there the better, because Ruby is now officially hyped to work on her weapons. So when she throws the door open wide, Ruby is ready in the living room, zipping right over to welcome such beauty...
...and to welcome Elphelt, too. ]
You made it! [ Like there was ever any doubt??? ] You brought the goods!
[ Her eyes haven't left the weapon since she saw it. But where are the others? ]
[Elphelt has felt like chopped liver compared to others before, but never her own weapons. At least she can pretend Ruby is excited to see her? It's nice to be wanted, even if it's only in her head.]
I...Yes. Yes, I did?
[Okay, maybe it is good the excitement isn't targeted directly at Elphelt. Ruby is kind of intense right now.
...And just what could possibly have happened between their little call and now for Elphelt not to have made it?]
So. [She looks from the pistol to Ruby.] Do you promise to take good care of them? They might be more complicated than you're used to, so I want to be sure you'll be extra careful.
[And not, like, eat them or something. Elphelt has only seen that wild gleam in Ruby's eye when cookies are involved.]
[ Look, look. Ruby is happy to see Elphelt, too, but her enthusiasm for weapons goes above and beyond all else. Especially weapons that will soon be in her care...maybe she can test them out a little bit while she has them. Nothing excessive! But it'd be a crime if she didn't fire them, right? ]
Elhpelt, please. You're talking to the Huntress who birthed Crescent Rose with her own two hands. [ And a little oversight from her uncle, too, but all the ideas and construction were her own!
She lays a reassuring hand on the other girl's shoulder. ]
I'll treat them like they were my own.
[ She understands better than anyone how important weapons are. ]
Mmm! [Elphelt gives a smile and a nod. Despite several valid concerns, she decides to trust in Ruby, because trusting friends is more important than sound reasoning.]
You're right. I know you'll take the utmost care. And seeing as we're in an entirely different universe from my own, there is no risk of you getting into trouble for possessing illegal arms.
[Ruby is already a criminal, anyway, so what is another felony, anyway? Elphelt takes Ruby's hand and, after a moment of looking her in the eyes, places her pink pistol into her palm, the clover-shaped keychain on the bottom of the grip jingling.]
This is Nougat. She may be small, but be careful with her.
[She holds a hand out to her side and, with a pink glow and a few rose petals, summons her big pink rifle red bow and all. She sets it in Ruby's arms.]
This is Miss Confire. Be extra careful with her. She can break through just about anything.
[And just as she had for her rifle, Elphelt summons her rose-adorned shotgun with her brand of pink light and magic rose petals. She shoves it into Ruby's growing pile of weapons in her arms.]
This is Miss Travailler. Uh, I know I keep telling you to be careful, but this one--well, the kick might be a lot for a-- [Human? She doesn't want to bring that whole deal up with Ruby while in the middle of business, so she just trails off.]
Oh! And I know guns are your thing, but do you mind polishing this up, too? [Again, from nowhere, she summons her sword--pink hilt, a long blade, and adorned with a ribbon and rose. That, too, gets added to the pile in Ruby's arms.]
And, lastly, Genoise! [For this, Elphelt takes a step back from Ruby and holds out both of her arms as she summons one last weapon. The pink aura is much larger than it was for any of the others, as is the number of rose petals it produces. With that appears the only gun Ruby hasn't seen yet: her enormous, angelic, rose-adored pink rocket launcher. Thankfully for Ruby's spine, Elphelt doesn't hand it over.]
Where would you like me to put her?
[...Hopefully Ruby's opinion of her doesn't get weird now that Elphelt has bared her all and revealed she is armed to the teeth.]
[ O-oh. Ruby knew Elphelt liked guns, and that she had a few of her own, but this is even more than she was expecting. It's not a bad thing — really, Ruby is impressed at her friend's personal armory and that little trick that she's using the summon them out of nowhere. Where can she learn to do that?! Imagine if she could keep more than one giant weapon on her at a time...
But she's getting ahead of herself. Peering over the pile of weapons in her arms, Ruby turns and nods towards the...couch???? Sure, yeah, that works. It'll be a nice, cushy spot for it to sit while it waits for her to work on it! Her housemates won't mind...probably. ]
How about there? [ ...And after a moment: ] Do you have a time you want these all ready by?
[ Because not gonna lie. She could spend weeks on these and not be ready to turn them back over. Elphelt is going to have to give her a hard deadline. ]
[Elphelt goes over to set Genoise on the couch. It probably weighs about four or so Rubies, so hopefully that won't be a problem.]
I don't have any particular time in mind. [Why would she? Outside of the occasional odd task, she doesn't have any plans requiring her to be armed. Even then, if necessary, she can use physical force, even if that isn't at all lady-like or her forte.
...Plus, she doesn't want to rush Ruby. The expert would know better than her how long it would take to do the job. She trusts Ruby more than enough to not to do something ridiculous like keep them for longer than necessary! Ruby isn't some sketchy mechanic out to fleece her.]
In your professional opinion, how long should it take?
[ She may not be out to fleece her, but she is a fanatic...Ruby steps over to the armchair and carefully sets the rest of Elphelt's weapons down there. Apparently, the living room is just going to become her shop now. No one will mind, right? At least, they're less likely to mind when she's playing around with weapons like this. She'll just have to make sure Nora doesn't get any ideas about trying Genoise out. ]
To do everything properly and make 'em really shine, I'd say about a week. Is that too long?
[ That should also give her plenty of time to just stare at them and appreciate them, maybe do a glamour photoshoot with them, earn their trust in case she ever needs to turn Elphelt's own weapons against her...
[That is definitely longer than she anticipated! But, again, she has no plans to go on some gun-toting rampage, so what's the harm? Separation anxiety, that's the harm. But this is Ruby. There is no one better to babysit, probably. ]
That should be okay. I wouldn't want to rush you, so...
[She will probably think of an excuse or two to come over a few times over the week to 'secretly' check up on how things are going.]
[ She considered making it two, but Ruby doesn't want to be excessive, even if it's going to be hard enough to part with these weapons as it is! But a week should give her ample time to do a thorough job as well as study the weapons for a bit. She doesn't want to keep Elphelt separated from her weapons for too long. She knows how important a girl's guns are to her! ]
Let's just call it a favor for a friend! You don't have to pay me for something I'm going to enjoy.
[ She's not great at this whole businesswoman thing, but really, it's no skin off her back to do this pro bono. A commission might be another story, but this is fine! ]
